Al-Arabiya, the Saudi-owned pan-Arab news channel, reported Monday evening that Esmail Qaani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, has traveled to Baghdad. The report, citing unnamed sources, adds another regional media confirmation to existing reports of Qaani’s presence in the Iraqi capital.
As The Zioneer reported minutes earlier, Qaani had arrived in Baghdad and met with the leadership of the Iraqi militia union, according to i24NEWS and Al Hadath. The motives and duration of Qaani’s visit remain unclear.
