Simultaneously, unnamed sources in Netanyahu's circle warned that Likud MK Haim Katz, who oversees the dismissal process, would himself be fired if he proceeds. One report cited sources telling journalist Yinon Magal that Katz's 'impudent announcement' could lead to his removal from the government — signaling severe internal Likud tensions.
Eliyahu is a senior Israeli public official in land administration and settlement policy, at the center of a legal and political battle over his appointment as Director of the Israel Land Authority.
