The ruling, reported by N12 correspondent Dafna Liel, came after a petition by the Likud party. Solberg rejected the argument that the timing exempted the video, stating that the permanent prohibition in law on using public assets for electioneering applies regardless of the special directive.
The decision is the latest in a series of enforcement actions by the elections committee during the current campaign. As The Zioneer has reported, the committee previously ordered the removal of campaign videos by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and fined National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir for a separate video. The committee has also dealt with petitions regarding voter-turnout apps and other campaign materials.
