Two additional suspects have been arrested in central Israel in connection with the disappearance of Eldar Dayan, according to reports. The arrests come after a previous bulletin reported the detentions without specifying the location.
Two additional suspects were arrested Wednesday in central Israel in connection with the disappearance of Eldar Dayan, according to reports. The arrests were initially reported by The Zioneer at 11:43 Jerusalem, and at 11:58 reports specified that the arrests took place in central Israel.
The investigation into Dayan's disappearance, which began on July 17, has seen a series of developments. On Tuesday, July 28, at 12:50 Jerusalem, The Zioneer reported that police assessed Dayan, 23, had fled after a hit-and-run accident, and later evaluated that he was likely hiding rather than kidnapped. Dayan's shirt was found in Petah Tikva, and his last WhatsApp message to his partner was revealed. Two of Dayan's friends were arrested on suspicion of obstruction of justice. At 15:19 Jerusalem on Tuesday, The Zioneer reported that a court extended the detention of Omri Peretz, the second suspect, until August 2. Peretz, through his attorney, denies the allegations and has said he is cooperating with investigators. The investigation was also transferred to the Central District amid suspicions of a brawl. By Tuesday evening, two additional suspects were arrested, though their identities were not released.
The whereabouts of Eldar Dayan remain unknown. The identities of the two new suspects have not been published, and the investigation continues.
