United Torah Judaism formally submitted its Knesset slate to the Central Elections Committee on Tuesday night, a procedural step that confirmed the top five candidates: MK Yaakov Asher (Degel HaTorah), Yitzchak Goldknopf (Agudat Yisrael), Yitzchak Pindrus (Degel HaTorah), Meir Porush (Chomat Torat Yisrael), and Moshe Rosenthal (Degel HaTorah).
The submission followed earlier reporting by The Zioneer. On Sunday, Sep 6, the desk published the full candidate list of ten names divided among the party's three constituent factions, and reported the initial submission of the list. Later on Tuesday, at 22:56, The Zioneer released the faction-by-faction breakdown confirming all ten candidates.
The new slate reflects a leadership transition in the Degel HaTorah faction. As The Zioneer reported on Sep 2, veteran MKs Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev were expected to step down on instructions from Gedolei HaTorah, paving the way for MK Yaakov Asher to head the list and new candidates to enter.
