Update: Iranian missiles launched toward Aqaba, Israeli interceptors fired from Eilat

A security source reports that several projectiles were launched from Iran toward the Aqaba area. Interceptor missiles were launched from the Israeli city of Eilat toward them due to concern of spillover into Israeli territory. The outcome of the interception is not yet known.

This update follows a preliminary report at 02:48 Jerusalem that interceptor missiles were launched from Eilat. A security source now provides context: the interceptors were responding to multiple Iranian missiles fired toward the Aqaba area. The concern of spillover into Israeli territory prompted the interceptor launch. The status of the current interceptions remains unclear.
