Dozens of Vizhnitz Hasidim are demonstrating outside the Attorney General's office in Jerusalem, protesting the arrest of individuals who evaded military service, Israeli media reports.
Dozens of members of the Vizhnitz Hasidic community gathered outside the Justice Ministry building in Jerusalem on Wednesday evening for a protest over the arrest of yeshiva students who evaded military conscription, i24NEWS reports. Protesters set up a makeshift study hall with signs, learning Torah while demonstrating. The protest is the latest in a series of ultra-Orthodox demonstrations across the country this month against the detention of draft evaders, including a mass rally by the Mir Yeshiva earlier this week and blockades of major highways last week. The Attorney General's office is located at the protest site. The community had initially planned to demonstrate on Tuesday, and organizers later confirmed the Wednesday time and location.
