Adham Ibrahim Shaban Nasman

Adham Ibrahim Shaban Nasman was a significant figure within the military wing of Hamas, specifically within the Gaza City Brigade. Before ascending to the role of head of operations for the brigade, Nasman served as a commander within the Nukhba battalion, the elite unit responsible for the most complex and lethal operations against Israel. His career was defined by his central role in planning and executing large-scale terror activities, most notably the October 7, 2023, infiltration and massacre in southern Israel. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Nasman was a key architect of the infiltration, providing the operational direction necessary for the assault.

Beyond his role in the initial attack, Nasman was directly implicated in the management and holding of Israeli hostages. Intelligence indicates he was involved in the captivity of several individuals, including Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, Ziv and Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrest, and Omri Miran. His involvement in the hostage apparatus highlights his seniority and the trust placed in him by the Hamas leadership to secure high-value assets during the conflict.

In the period leading up to his death, Nasman was identified by Israeli intelligence as a primary driver of Hamas's efforts to rehabilitate its terror infrastructure in Gaza City. These activities were conducted in direct violation of ceasefire understandings, as he worked to reorganize combat units and restore command-and-control capabilities that had been degraded by IDF operations. His elimination in a joint IDF and Shin Bet strike in July 2026 represents a significant blow to Hamas's attempts to regain a foothold in northern Gaza and serves as a measure of accountability for his role in the October 7 atrocities and the ongoing hostage crisis.
