The IDF and Shin Bet released additional details on Tuesday regarding Adham Ibrahim Shaban Nasman, the head of operations for Hamas's Gaza City Brigade who was eliminated in an airstrike over the weekend. Security officials confirmed that Nasman was directly responsible for holding several high-profile Israeli hostages and was actively violating ceasefire terms by rebuilding terror infrastructure in Gaza City.
The IDF and Shin Bet (ISA) have identified several Israeli hostages held by Adham Ibrahim Shaban Nasman, the senior Hamas commander eliminated in a targeted strike in Gaza City on Saturday. According to a joint statement, Nasman was involved in the captivity of Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, Ziv and Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrest, and Omri Miran. Nasman’s career within Hamas was marked by a series of senior operational and intelligence roles. He previously served as the commander of the Al-Shati Battalion and as the intelligence officer for the Gaza City Brigade. More recently, he served as a commander within the Nukhba elite forces. Security officials state that on October 7, 2023, Nasman was a central figure who commanded and directed the infiltration into Israeli territory from the Gaza City sector. ### Efforts to Rebuild Terror Infrastructure Beyond his historical role in the October 7 massacre and the holding of hostages, the IDF reported that Nasman had been actively working to restore Hamas's military capabilities in recent months. His activities included training terrorists within the Gaza City Brigade and overseeing the production and distribution of weapons to various battalions. The IDF noted that these actions constituted a direct violation of the ceasefire agreement currently in place. ### Security Outlook Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with existing agreements. The elimination of such a high-ranking operational figure is viewed as a significant blow to Hamas's attempts to reconstitute its command structure in northern Gaza. The Zioneer continues to monitor the security situation as the IDF maintains its posture to remove immediate threats.
