Knesset Legal Advisor

The Knesset Legal Advisor serves as the professional guardian of the legislative process in Israel. Unlike the Attorney General, who represents the executive branch, the Knesset Legal Advisor is an independent officer of the parliament, appointed to ensure that the Knesset functions as a sovereign legislative body within the bounds of Israel's Basic Laws. The office is currently held by Attorney Sagit Afik.
