TL;DR

Delegations from Lebanon's Amal movement, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (al-Hashd al-Shaabi), Kata'ib Hezbollah Iraq, and family members of slain Hezbollah leaders Hassan Nasrallah and Imad Mughniyeh attended the funeral of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran on Friday, according to Israeli media.

01 · THE DISPATCH

A broad delegation of Iran-backed proxy figures attended the funeral of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran on Friday, as confirmed by an N12 correspondent at the scene. The attendees included representatives from Lebanon's Amal movement, Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (al-Hashd al-Shaabi), and a separate delegation from Kata'ib Hezbollah Iraq. Surviving relatives of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and former military commander Imad Mughniyeh were also present.

Initial reports earlier Friday, first carried by The Zioneer at 11:13 Jerusalem, came from a single pro-Iranian source and indicated that the delegations and families were attending the funeral. Those reports were later corroborated by Israeli media, with N12's correspondent on the ground confirming the details. The same source had earlier reported a farewell ceremony involving the families, which The Zioneer also covered at the same time.

As The Zioneer reported on Thursday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met with Amal representatives in Tehran ahead of the funeral. A senior Hezbollah delegation has also been in the city. The presence of the families of Nasrallah and Mughniyeh — both killed in operations attributed to Israel (Mughniyeh in a 2008 car bombing in Damascus attributed to the Mossad; Nasrallah in an Israeli strike in 2024) — underscores the symbolic continuity of the Iran-led axis.

No Israeli action or response in connection with the funeral was reported. The breadth of the delegation, spanning Lebanese and Iraqi proxies, demonstrates the depth of the Iran-led network's coordination in the wake of Khamenei's death, but the full extent of the alliance's internal dynamics in the succession period remains unclear.
