TL;DR

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir told commanders during a situation assessment in southern Lebanon that Hezbollah is in a severe predicament, and that over the past two days the military thwarted a significant command echelon of the Badr and other units. He described the Ali Taher and Beaufort area as a twenty-year underground fortress, and said the declared ceasefire is fragile and forces must be ready for a rapid transition to offense.

01 · THE DISPATCH

In a visit to southern Lebanon Sunday afternoon, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir held a situation assessment with brigade commanders and relayed a detailed picture of recent operations. He stressed that the military's objective remains unchanged — defending northern communities — and that operations in the Ali Taher and Beaufort Castle areas are central to that goal.

Zamir stated that Hezbollah is in a 'very severe predicament' after the IDF thwarted a significant command echelon at the intermediate level of its Badr units and additional formations over the past two days. He described the Ali Taher- Beaufort ridge as an underground fortress Hezbollah built over 20 years, now a main focus of the Northern Command.

As The Zioneer reported earlier Sunday, the Chief of Staff had already briefed commanders that operations in those areas continue, and the IDF says troops hold full freedom of action across southern Lebanon. The declared ceasefire, Zamir said, is fragile, and forces must maintain high readiness for resumption of combat and a rapid transition to offense if required. All IDF resources are allocated for this, he added.
