TL;DR

Unverified reports describe explosions in Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, Kangan, and Ahvaz, in southern Iran, reportedly concurrent with the expiration of President Trump's deadline for Iran. The cause, casualties, and damage are not yet known.

01 · THE DISPATCH

The latest unverified reports, emerging at 02:29 Jerusalem time, describe explosions in Bandar Abbas and Ahvaz, expanding the series of blast reports across southern Iran that began at 02:23 Jerusalem. The earlier reports initially covered Bushehr, then added Asaluyeh and Chabahar, and subsequently Kangan. The timing coincides with the expiration of President Trump's deadline for Iran. The cause of the blasts remains unclear, and no official confirmation has been issued by Iranian authorities.

At 02:23 Jerusalem, The Zioneer first reported an explosion in Bushehr based on unverified social media accounts. Within minutes, the same sources reported additional explosions in Asaluyeh and Chabahar, and then in Kangan – all published at the same 02:23 Jerusalem timestamp. The desk's sequential bulletins documented the spread of reports across southern Iran's coastal and energy infrastructure cities. The latest update, at 02:29 Jerusalem, adds Bandar Abbas and Ahvaz, bringing the total to four cities.

As The Zioneer has reported over recent weeks, similar explosion reports have recurred in these cities. Since early June, the desk has tracked strike reports in Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, and Ahvaz, with some attributed by local officials to gas leaks and others linked to the broader US–Iran military escalation. On June 10, explosions were reported in Bandar Abbas as Trump convened the Situation Room; on July 9, explosions continued in Ahvaz, with security analyst Yair Goldblatt citing local reports. The current reports follow a sustained campaign of US strikes confirmed by a US official to Fox News on June 11.

All reports remain unverified by independent sources. Iranian authorities have not commented. The extent of casualties or damage is unknown.
