Iran's Mehr News Agency reports explosions were heard near the town of Sirik in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, moments ago. The cause, any damage, and possible casualties are not yet known. This is the latest in a series of blast reports in the area over recent days, as The Zioneer has previously tracked.
The Iranian Mehr News Agency reported moments ago that explosions were heard near Sirik, a town in Hormozgan Province on the southern coast of Iran. The report is the latest in a prolonged burst of unexplained blast incidents across southern Iran over the past several days.
Since June 10, The Zioneer has tracked explosions in Qeshm, Sirik, Minab, and near Abyek, as well as south of Tehran and in Ahvaz. A bulletin published at 14:33 Jerusalem time (SAME-THREAD) noted the IRGC is investigating the source of blasts in southern Iran. Multiple explosions in the same area, including near the Bandar Sirik naval base, were reported earlier — at 14:34 Jerusalem time, an explosion of unknown origin at Sirik port was documented.
No group has claimed responsibility for any of the blasts. Confirmation of the cause, extent of damage, and any casualties remains pending; this report, like the others, relies on a single Iranian state-affiliated source.
The new report comes at 15:12 Jerusalem time — the third blast report near Sirik alone within the past 24 hours, following the thread tracked since the first Sirik reports at 00:42 and 02:45 June 10.
