This follows a bulletin The Zioneer published at 19:02 Jerusalem reporting the initial closure of Route 3866 due to the blaze, before control was achieved. Earlier in the week, firefighting crews in the Jerusalem District contained several other brush and forest fires, including a large blaze near Highway 1 and Lifta on June 5, and a brushfire in Ein Kerem on June 6. No immediate link between the fires has been established. The recurring dry conditions in the region have elevated fire risk in open areas in recent days, though the specific cause of tonight's fire remains under investigation.
