The Samaria Regional Council, together with Amanah, placed the first caravan neighborhood in the community of Ganim in northern Samaria, 21 years after its evacuation in the 2005 disengagement. Council head Yossi Dagan recited the Shehecheyanu blessing and said, 'Ganim will be a huge settlement. The people of Israel are coming home.'
The placement of the first residential structures in Ganim marks a significant step in the renewal of the settlement, which was evacuated in 2005 as part of the disengagement from the Gaza Strip and northern Samaria. The Samaria Regional Council, led by Yossi Dagan, drove the effort alongside Amanah. Dagan, who recited the Shehecheyanu blessing, described the moment as 'historic joy' and said the community would become a 'huge settlement.'
The Zioneer reported earlier today that the first caravan neighborhood had been placed. Previous reporting over the past month has documented the rebuilding of Ganim and other evacuated communities. On June 17, the council moved engineering vehicles onto the ground to begin renewal. In Sha-Nur, another evacuated community, a kindergarten was built last week.
The council has indicated that families are expected to move onto the land this summer. No timeline for further construction has been announced.
