The first residential caravans arrived Wednesday morning at the community of Kadim in northern Samaria, 21 years after its evacuation in the 2005 disengagement, according to reports. Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan said the return 'erases the disgrace of the expulsion' and pledged to re-establish all four evacuated communities. Oz Tzohar, head of the family nucleus, said they are 'eagerly awaiting the ascent to the land.'
The first caravans arrived Wednesday morning at Kadim, the fourth and final community of the four northern Samaria settlements destroyed in the 2005 disengagement to begin its return. The Samaria Regional Council, which has been leading the re-establishment effort, said the caravans arrived ahead of the move of a family nucleus from Tel Aviv.
Council head Yossi Dagan said the return 'erases the disgrace of the expulsion from Kadim' and pledged to re-establish all four communities. 'Those who didn't want Jews in northern Samaria will get 50 times more,' he said. Oz Tzohar, head of the family nucleus, said the group is 'eagerly awaiting the ascent to the land.'
Earlier this month, caravans were placed in Ganim, and the new community of Emek Dotan was established, as The Zioneer reported. Over 3,000 families have applied to join the 18 new settlement nuclei planned for the region, according to the council.
