01 · THE DISPATCH

The IDF Spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that five soldiers were wounded in two explosive drone attacks earlier in the day in southern Lebanon, in the Tabnit area. Details released by the military match reports that circulated earlier on Telegram: the first drone struck near a Givati Brigade combat team tank at around 06:00, wounding four soldiers; a second explosive drone then directly hit the evacuation vehicle minutes later, wounding one more. All casualties were airlifted to a hospital; the IDF did not release their severity status in this update. As The Zioneer reported at 17:02, earlier reports described one soldier severely wounded, two moderately, and two lightly — it is unclear whether those severity assessments remain valid or have been updated.

The attack is the latest in a series of drone strikes on IDF forces in southern Lebanon. On Sunday June 7, four reserve soldiers were moderately wounded by an explosive drone in the same region, and on June 5 three officers were wounded in two separate incidents, two of them severely. The persistence of explosive drone attacks against Israeli armor and medical evacuation assets has drawn attention to Hezbollah's continued ability to operate drones against Israeli positions despite ongoing IDF operations in southern Lebanon.

No group has yet claimed responsibility, but the attacks fit the pattern of Hezbollah drone operations against IDF forces in the border area. The IDF said it struck terror infrastructure in the area with artillery.
