The mother of the woman suspected of kidnapping her two children said Monday that she knows her daughter entered Israel but does not know where she or the children are. The statement came after police questioned the grandmother in connection with the investigation, N12 reporter Inbar Tuizer said.
The suspect, Aliyah Joy Hirschberg, 20, holds Israeli and Canadian citizenship. She is believed to have left Canada with her children — Tala Rizel, 3, and Nathan Yaakov Vorona, 1 — following a conflict with their father, a Canadian citizen. According to police, the father hired a private investigator, which led to an arrest warrant being issued for Hirschberg. The mother and children entered Israel in August 2025 and have not been seen since, police said.
Israel Police have asked the public for help locating Hirschberg and the children, estimating they may be in the Jerusalem area. Earlier Monday, a Jerusalem resident told N12 he had seen Hirschberg months ago. The investigation is being handled by the Jerusalem District police.
