Earlier today, Thursday, former Deputy Foreign Minister Sharan Haskel submitted an affidavit to the High Court of Justice in which she stated that she and other MKs from the National Right (Hamin Hamamlachti) faction were required to vote for Likud's candidate Michael Ravilo for State Comptroller, document their vote, and present the documentation to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The High Court is currently weighing several petitions against Ravilo's appointment, which was approved by the Knesset in a secret ballot. The Knesset legal adviser also urged the court to dismiss the petitions.
The conflicting affidavits now present the court with a clear factual dispute. The court has not yet ruled on the petitions, and the veracity of the competing claims remains unresolved.
