Earlier on Thursday, an initial report at 10:49 Jerusalem identified Haskel as the MK who filed the affidavit, though an anonymous version was also published at the same time. The affidavit contradicts sworn statements filed by other MKs on Wednesday, June 24, who told the High Court that they filmed themselves on their own initiative and received no instructions. As The Zioneer reported on that date, those MKs submitted affidavits denying any orders to document their votes.
The affidavit also calls for a criminal investigation into the alleged false affidavit, according to the initial report. The High Court is expected to examine the conflicting accounts as it deliberates on Haskel's faction split petition.
It remains unclear whether the other MKs will amend their statements in light of Haskel's admission. The court has not yet ruled on the faction split or the veracity of the conflicting affidavits.
