The Houthi campaign against commercial shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb strait and the Red Sea has intensified since the group ended its ceasefire with Saudi Arabia in late July 2026, disrupting global trade routes. The identity of the vessel and the reason for the attack have not yet been released.
