Kafina infiltrated Israel during the October 7, 2023, massacre and commanded a cell of terrorists who carried out the abduction of Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or. He also directed the abduction of Sudthisak Rinthalak, a foreign worker. The military stated that Kafina continued to advance terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians throughout the war, posing an immediate threat that led to the strike.
The elimination is part of the IDF's broader campaign, as The Zioneer has reported, to systematically target the perpetrators of the October 7 atrocities. In recent weeks, the military has eliminated several senior commanders involved in the massacre, including Hamas Nukhba commanders, Islamic Jihad operatives, and leaders of smaller terror cells — all part of the Southern Command and Shin Bet's effort to dismantle the operational leadership that carried out the deadliest attack on Israel in its history.
The IDF said troops remain deployed in the Gaza Strip in accordance with the existing agreements and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
