The IDF confirmed Wednesday that a Hamas Nukhba cell commander who infiltrated Israel on October 7, 2023, and personally participated in the abduction of three armored corps troops — Capt. Omer Neutra, Staff Sgt. Oz Daniel, and Sgt. Nimrod Cohen — was eliminated in a strike last week in the Khan Younis area. During the same encounter, tank driver Sgt. Shaked Dahan was killed, according to the IDF.
The IDF confirmed Wednesday the elimination of a Hamas Nukhba cell commander who took part in the October 7 massacre and was directly involved in the abduction of three IDF soldiers from their armored vehicles. The strike was carried out last week in the Khan Younis area, the military said. During the operation, a firefight broke out in which Sgt. Shaked Dahan, a tank driver, was killed.
The announcement continues a pattern of IDF operations targeting Nukhba operatives who participated in the Oct. 7 infiltration and hostage-taking. The military has repeatedly emphasized that it will pursue those responsible for the massacre, regardless of the time elapsed. The identity of the eliminated commander has not been publicly disclosed.
The three abducted soldiers — Capt. Omer Neutra, Staff Sgt. Oz Daniel, and Sgt. Nimrod Cohen — were among those taken captive on Oct. 7. Their families have been notified of the development, the IDF said.
