According to an IDF statement, the strike took place last week in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip. During the war, Ismail was involved in ambushes against IDF troops and advancing terror plots while violating the ceasefire, the military said. The IDF's Southern Command continues operations to remove immediate threats.
The elimination is part of a broader IDF campaign to systematically target every operative involved in the October 7 attacks, particularly Nukhba commanders. As The Zioneer has previously reported, the IDF has maintained a policy of eliminating threats even within the ceasefire framework, specifically targeting individuals involved in rebuilding terror infrastructure or planning imminent attacks. Previous operations have eliminated senior Nukhba figures including Yahya Saeed Mohammed Hamdan, Abd al-Fattah Abu al-Aish, and Abdullah Adnan Taha Abu al-Tayef.
