The IDF says it destroyed an underground route over 200 meters long and 25 meters deep in the village of Majdal Zoun, southern Lebanon, containing hundreds of weapons and four launch shafts aimed at Israel. The military stated the complex was built using Iranian know-how and technology.
This evening, the IDF announced the destruction of a significant underground Hezbollah facility in Majdal Zoun, southern Lebanon, as part of ongoing operations in the security zone. The tunnel, more than 200 meters long and buried 25 meters deep, contained hundreds of weapons and four launch shafts pointing toward Israeli territory.
The military said the complex was built with Iranian technology and expertise. The operation was carried out by the 551st Brigade Combat Team and the elite Yahalom engineering unit, under the command of Division 91.
As The Zioneer reported earlier this evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the demolition of a Hezbollah drone tunnel at the same site. That facility, also 200 meters long, was used to assemble and launch Iranian-made UAVs. The IDF initially revealed a vast Hezbollah tunnel complex in Majdal Zoun on June 21, describing it as a subterranean 'airfield' containing Iranian drones and launch shafts aimed at Israel's coast.
This latest operation builds on a series of IDF actions in the area. On June 18, troops displayed a weapons cache seized in the village. The military says it will continue to clear threats from the southern Lebanon security zone.
