The IDF said Thursday that the Givati Brigade has concluded eight months of operations in southern Lebanon. Troops operated from the border to north of the Litani River, dismantling hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites, eliminating hundreds of Hezbollah operatives, and locating more than 1,000 weapons, the military stated.
The IDF's Givati Brigade has formally completed its eight-month operational deployment in southern Lebanon, the military announced on Thursday. A combat completion ceremony was held Wednesday at Camp Pilon, led by Northern Command MG Rafi Milo.
The brigade's mission began with a defensive posture along the border and transitioned into offensive operations across southern Lebanon, including the areas of Al-Khiam and Bint Jbeil, north of the Litani River, and along the Beaufort Ridge. The IDF stated that troops dismantled hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites, eliminated hundreds of Hezbollah operatives, and recovered more than 1,000 weapons.
As The Zioneer previously reported, the Givati Brigade had conducted sustained ground operations north of the Litani River, eliminating over 40 Hezbollah operatives in a previous phase of the operation (June 9) and completing a deep raid in the village of Dibbine, 12 kilometers inside Lebanon (June 12). The Beaufort Ridge area was also the site of the Golani Brigade's command transition in early June.
The conclusion of the Givati deployment marks a milestone in the IDF's expanded campaign in southern Lebanon, which has included multiple brigade rotations and sustained strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure following ceasefire violations.
