The IDF announced Monday afternoon that it eliminated two senior Hamas commanders in northern Gaza over the weekend, in what the military described as targeted strikes against operatives who violated the ceasefire. The first strike killed Ahmad Munir Khalil Zaza, the engineering officer of Hamas' West Jabalia Battalion in Gaza City. According to the IDF, Zaza was responsible for manufacturing and distributing weapons, as well as building explosive devices and booby-trapping buildings. In recent days, he attempted to plant explosives near the Yellow Line — the ceasefire buffer zone — aiming to strike Israeli forces operating in the area. The second strike eliminated Hussein Safadi, the commander of Hamas' sniper array in Gaza City. The IDF said Safadi was responsible for all sniper attacks against Israeli troops throughout the war, and had systematically violated the ceasefire by training operatives and advancing additional sniper plots. The IDF said forces remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to remove any immediate threats. The claims originate from a single IDF Spokesperson's statement; no independent corroboration is yet available, and video of the operations was published by the military.
