The IDF has cleared for publication the name of Staff Sergeant (res.) Alexander Filin, 29, from Haifa, who fell in battle in southern Lebanon. Filin served as a fighter at the headquarters of the 36th Division.

As The Zioneer reported at 06:11, an initial IDF inquiry into the Wednesday 17:00 incident in the Litani area found that eight soldiers were wounded in the blast — three moderately and five lightly — in addition to Filin's death. The device was assessed to have been enemy-placed, and the IDF struck terrorist infrastructure in response. Filin's unit has been notified.
