The IDF exposed a substantial underground route in the village of Majdal Zoun, deep in southern Lebanon, containing hundreds of weapons and four launch shafts aimed at Israel. Over 20 Hezbollah operatives were killed in the operation, more than 10 from the Radwan elite unit. The tunnel, discovered by the elite Yahalom unit, stretches over 200 meters, 25 meters deep, with 12 rooms including living quarters and storage for explosives, anti-tank missiles, and drones.
The IDF on Sunday evening revealed an extensive underground route it discovered in the Lebanese village of Majdal Zoun, some 10 kilometers inside southern Lebanon. The operation, conducted by the 551st Brigade Combat Team under the 91st Division, uncovered a tunnel complex holding hundreds of weapons, including anti-tank missiles and drones, and four launch shafts oriented toward Israeli territory.
Military officials stated that over 20 Hezbollah operatives were killed in the sweep, more than ten from the elite Radwan force. More than 50 terrorist infrastructure sites—observation posts, weapons depots—were destroyed. The tunnel, located by the elite Yahalom unit, was over 200 meters long, 25 meters deep, and contained 12 rooms used for living quarters, explosive-charge storage, and weapons housing.
This is not the first time Majdal Zoun has featured in IDF operations. As The Zioneer previously reported, the village was a focal point of ground operations earlier in June, culminating in its capture from Hezbollah forces. The newly revealed findings suggest Hezbollah had invested heavily in fortifying the area with a substantial underground fighting and launch infrastructure, designed to threaten Israeli communities.
