The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement at 13:45 Jerusalem time Friday claiming it struck the Al-Adiri base in Kuwait and the U.S. Fifth Fleet command tower in Bahrain, and for the first time warned civilians in countries hosting American bases to immediately stay at least 500 meters from U.S. personnel housing. The civilian warning is a new element in the IRGC's campaign of claims, which began Thursday morning with assertions of drone strikes on multiple Kuwaiti bases.
The IRGC's claims on Thursday (Jul 23, 07:28 Jerusalem) started with a statement that it had conducted intensive drone strikes on three U.S. sites in Kuwait (Doha base, Ali al-Salem base, and Arifjan camp) as part of the 23rd phase of an operation it calls 'Thunder.' Those claims were followed by a statement that the strikes had killed and wounded American soldiers and damaged aircraft; then a claim of a heavy drone strike damaging a large ammunition warehouse and several buildings; and then a claim that the attack also targeted the U.S. Fifth Fleet control tower in Bahrain. All five versions of the IRGC's claims, published Thursday morning, remain unverified by independent sources.
As The Zioneer has reported, the IRGC has been issuing similar claims of attacks on U.S. bases across the region since early July, including in Jordan, Qatar, Iraq, and Bahrain. In each instance, the IRGC has asserted that the strikes were retaliation for U.S. attacks on Iran, and no independent confirmation has followed.
No confirmation has been received from U.S. Central Command, the Kuwaiti military, or Bahraini authorities. The IRGC's warning to civilians — and the underlying claims of a strike on the Al-Adiri base and the Fifth Fleet tower — remain unverified.
