The Zioneer reported at 18:24 that Sa'ar had announced broader retaliatory steps — closing the British consulate in Jerusalem, expelling British representatives from the Gaza aid coordination center in Kiryat Gat, and banning 12 officials — in response to UK trade restrictions on Judea and Samaria and personal sanctions on settlement activists imposed earlier Tuesday.
The UK earlier that day announced import bans on goods from Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, part of a 12-country initiative led by Britain. The personal sanctions targeted activists Baruch Marzel, Benzi Gopstein, and Eliav Libi, as well as unspecified construction firms.
It remains unclear whether London will announce countermeasures in response to the Israeli actions.
