01 · THE DISPATCH

A drone strike hit a vehicle near the Abu Khadra mosque in the Rimal neighborhood of western Gaza City on Thursday afternoon, killing three and wounding several others, according to Palestinian sources. The target of the strike — the vehicle and its passengers — was not specified in the initial reports, and the Israel Defense Forces have not yet commented on the incident.

This bulletin updates a story The Zioneer has been tracking since 14:28 Jerusalem on Thursday, when a first Palestinian source reported casualties in a strike in Gaza City. By 14:28 Jerusalem, two parallel versions appeared on the wire: one describing a strike west of Gaza City hitting a vehicle with three killed, and a second, with the same timestamp, specifying the strike as a drone hitting a vehicle near the Abu Khadura mosque in the Rimal neighborhood. The initial reporting relied on a single Palestinian source; by 14:28 Jerusalem that afternoon, the account had been corroborated by multiple Palestinian sources, though no Israeli or independent confirmation had emerged. The present version adds the mosque name as Abu Khadra (a variant of the earlier Abu Khadura) and fixes the neighborhood to Rimal.

Drone strikes on vehicles in Gaza City have been a recurring pattern in recent days. As The Zioneer reported on June 8, a drone strike on a jeep in western Gaza City killed four; on June 14, a drone strike near al-Yaman al-Saeed Hospital in Jabalia killed four; and on June 17, a strike on Al-Mawasi beach killed two. In each case, the IDF did not comment and the target's affiliation was not confirmed.

It remains unclear whether the vehicle struck contained armed individuals or civilians, and whether the strike was part of a broader operation. The IDF has not issued a statement. No independent verification of the casualty figures or the scene is available.
