Meanwhile, Justice Minister Yariv Levin and MK Dudi Amsalem lost ground in the internal ranking, reversing their earlier positions in the night's count.
The results cap an overnight count that saw Katz climb from 20th place in the previous primary to a top-five finish, as The Zioneer reported at 06:06 Tuesday morning. Earlier counts had shown Energy Minister Eli Cohen leading, followed by Levin and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, while three cabinet ministers — Avi Dichter, Idit Silman, and May Golan — were pushed out of realistic list spots. Economy Minister Nir Barkat fell to the third tier, and Ministers Ze'ev Elkin and Gila Gamliel remained at risk throughout the counting.
The primary, which drew a national turnout of approximately 53%, as The Zioneer reported, reshuffled the party's leadership tier. While the final national list places winners in strong positions, reserved slots for female representation and district representatives — including a first-place finish for Araz Tadmor in the Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and Shfela districts — will determine the exact composition of the top ten when the official list is presented.
The final drop of votes may still affect the margins for marginal slots, but the main contours of the Likud list for the next Knesset are now set.
