Judea and Samaria District Police arrested 24 illegal residents and three drivers in three separate operations over the past week, police said. A minibus carrying 16 residents of Tulkarm was stopped on Highway 1; two additional vehicles were stopped on Route 443. The drivers—a man from Kfar Aqab and two women from Beersheba—were arrested and their vehicles seized.
The arrests, first reported by The Zioneer early Thursday morning, were detailed by police later in the day. Officers from the Binyamin station stopped an Israeli minibus on Highway 1 and found 16 residents of Tulkarm inside. The driver, a man in his 40s from Kfar Aqab, was arrested and the minibus seized. In two additional operations on Route 443, Modi’in Illit officers arrested two women from Beersheba after finding four illegal entrants hidden inside each of their vehicles. Both cars were confiscated for possible administrative action.
The operation is part of a wider police crackdown on illegal entry and smuggling. Similar arrests have been reported in recent weeks, including the detention of 15 illegal residents in Jerusalem ahead of Tisha B’Av and 16 near Regavim. The SAME-THREAD bulletin from earlier today noted the Kfar Aqab driver and the two Beersheba women, which police have now confirmed with additional details on the three separate smuggling runs.
