Police arrested a suspect from the Shuafat refugee camp who stole a car and then attempted to breach the Hizma checkpoint north of Jerusalem on Tuesday evening, according to police. Three illegal entrants were found in the vehicle. A Border Police officer was lightly wounded during the operation and evacuated for treatment. The arrest follows a series of similar vehicle-theft and checkpoint-breach incidents reported by The Zioneer on Tuesday evening, including a Border Police officer struck by a vehicle in Shuafat earlier at 21:59 and another stolen-vehicle incident at the Meitar crossing at 21:56. The suspect was taken into custody; the investigation continues.
