Israeli police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old resident of the Kohav HaShachar outpost, who had fled from security forces during an operation to locate a weapons cache yesterday, according to Channel 12.
Police announced early Monday morning that they had arrested the 16-year-old resident of the Kohav HaShachar outpost who fled during a weapons cache search in the Binyamin region of Judea and Samaria the previous day. The arrest was carried out overnight, Channel 12 reported.
The development follows a series of events reported on Sunday, August 9, at 17:32 Jerusalem. Police initially located a weapons cache and arrested a suspect at the scene. Shortly afterward, the suspect attacked officers, causing injuries, and a crowd of dozens attempted to disrupt the arrest. Ultimately, dozens of teenagers succeeded in rescuing the suspect from custody, according to police and Channel 12 reports. The same suspect is now back in custody.
The incident is part of ongoing police operations targeting illegal weapons in the area. As The Zioneer reported on Sunday, police seized a weapons cache including stun grenades and ammunition in the nearby community of Kol Dodi, where a teenager was arrested and later rescued by a crowd. In a separate incident in June, a teenager resisted arrest in the same region, with police stating that a video circulated on social media presented a partial and tendentious picture.
The current investigation is ongoing. The suspect is in police custody, and the seized weapons are being handled by authorities.
