A poll by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem finds 92% of Israeli respondents believe Iran emerged as the winner of the recent war. An overwhelming 86% said they feel negatively about the war's outcome, and 83% said the campaign weakened Israel's long-term security, according to the survey published Monday.
A new poll conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem found that 92% of Israeli respondents believe Iran won the war, as the campaign that began in late February concluded with a U.S.-Iran agreement now under negotiation in Switzerland.
The survey, published Monday, also found that 86% of those polled feel negatively about the war's outcome, and 83% say the campaign has weakened Israel's long-term security. Only a small minority view the result positively or as a victory for Israel.
The findings deepen a trend already tracked in previous polls over the past week. As The Zioneer reported on June 21, an earlier Hebrew University survey showed 92% of Israelis believed Iran emerged as the winner. A June 18 Channel 12 poll found 84% said Israel did not win the war, with 43% saying Israel lost outright. A June 18 Israel Hayom poll reported that only 11% of respondents believed Israel won, while 71% said they do not trust U.S. President Donald Trump to safeguard Israeli interests in the ongoing Iran deal talks.
The poll was released amid the continuing U.S.-Iran negotiations in Switzerland, which followed an agreement signed between the two countries last week. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly expressed opposition to the deal's terms.
