The Zioneer's intelligence desk confirmed Tuesday night at 23:04 Jerusalem the elimination of the commander of Hamas's Rafah Brigade, adding its own verification to a chain of reports that had already been building over the previous hour.
Earlier Tuesday evening at 22:08 Jerusalem, the IDF and Shin Bet announced a strike on a senior Hamas operative in the Mawasi area of southern Gaza. The target was quickly identified as the commander of the Rafah Brigade. Within minutes, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the strike, identifying the commander as Na'el Abu Atiyah (also reported as Nael Abu Ubaid).
