According to Iranian reports, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval base in Sirik, near the Strait of Hormuz, was struck on Wednesday evening. The strikes follow a similar attack overnight, marking the second consecutive night of targeting in the area. The source and extent of the strikes are not yet independently confirmed.
Reports from Iranian media indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval base in Sirik, on Iran's southern coast near the Strait of Hormuz, was struck for the second consecutive night on Wednesday evening. The reports describe the attack as similar to one on the same base the previous night.
Earlier this evening, at 22:48 Jerusalem, Iranian media affiliated with the IRGC reported that air defense systems had been activated on Sirik Island, as The Zioneer reported. Minutes later, reports emerged of strikes on the base. The sequence — activation of air defenses followed by reported strikes — mirrors the pattern from the previous night.
The area around Sirik and the Strait of Hormuz has been a focal point of tensions in recent weeks. As The Zioneer has reported, previous incidents include a strike on radar and air defense systems at an IRGC naval base on June 10, a hacker group claiming a joint cyber retaliation on June 11, and warning shots fired by the IRGC at vessels in the Strait on June 28. The IRGC has also threatened a 'swift and decisive' response to a US strike near Sirik on June 27.
The source of the strikes and the extent of damage are not yet independently confirmed.
