01 · THE DISPATCH

The IDF cleared for publication Saturday night the name of a second soldier killed in a separate southern Lebanon incident. Staff Sgt. Nir Ben Ari, 21, a Maglan unit fighter, was killed by an explosive drone and rocket fire near the village of Tibnit, the IDF said. In the same incident, two soldiers were seriously wounded, one officer moderately, and 10 soldiers lightly.

This event is distinct from the Friday overnight tank incident that killed Lt. Col. Dor Gadelia Ben Shimon, Staff Sgt. Yoav Klein, and two other soldiers whose names have not yet been cleared for publication. The IDF confirmed the two incidents are separate.

As The Zioneer reported earlier Saturday, the military has now published the names of both fallen soldiers from the two separate events. The IDF search and rescue operation in the Tibnit area concluded, with all casualties evacuated to hospitals.
