At 01:21 Jerusalem, residents of Kibbutz Zikim were instructed to lock doors and shelter in place amid a suspected infiltration. Shortly thereafter, the IDF reported a cut in the border fence, and journalist Almog Boker (N12) documented active searches at the scene. Within minutes, the military stated that the timing of the cut was still unknown, and subsequently clarified that no crossing from Gaza had been confirmed. The IDF later said that no suspects were found and that the cause of the breach remains under investigation.
Searches are ongoing, and the military is working to determine how and when the fence was cut. No further details have been released.
