The latest disclosure follows a series of earlier reports on the same day. At 19:05 Jerusalem, The Zioneer reported that Zini had presented Eisenkot with a security proposal that the journalists described as 'absurd.' Shortly before that, Zini had confirmed in an N12 exclusive that he alone decided not to assign Eisenkot a security detail, and the Shin Bet stated he had consulted with the Central Elections Committee and Judge Solberg. Former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen, in an interview with Besheva, called Zini's decision 'puzzling' and stated he is aware of threats against Eisenkot from within and outside the security establishment.
The Zioneer previously reported that Zini has held a series of meetings with political figures in recent weeks, including former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on July 28, Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz on July 27, and Eisenkot himself on July 23, as part of what the agency described as routine security coordination ahead of a possible change of government.
