01 · THE DISPATCH

The president of Tajikistan arrived in Tehran on Friday morning to attend the funeral ceremonies of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, according to reports. The visit adds a specific name to the flow of foreign delegations that have been arriving since early Friday, as the Islamic Republic continues its period of mourning.

As The Zioneer reported at 01:09 Jerusalem on Friday, delegations from several countries had already arrived in Tehran to pay final respects. The Tajik president's arrival follows a list of foreign leaders expected to attend the funeral, published by the Iranian site Azar Iran on July 1, which included the presidents of Tajikistan, Iraq, Georgia, Turkmenistan, and Armenia, among others. That list was reported by The Zioneer at 23:35 Jerusalem on July 1. Reports earlier in the week also noted that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an extended visit to include the funeral events, as The Zioneer reported on June 24.

The funeral proceedings have been unfolding since late Thursday night, with the coffin displayed in Tehran, transferred to Imam Khomeini Mosque, and a farewell ceremony attended by IRGC commander Ahmad Vahidi. The funeral procession officially commenced early Friday, and Iran's Jewish community has pledged to attend all ceremonies.

It remains unclear which other foreign leaders have already arrived or are en route, and whether the Tajik president's visit includes any bilateral meetings alongside the funeral events.
