01 · THE DISPATCH

Israel assesses that US President Donald Trump will soon announce a concession to Iran in an effort to prevent retaliation over the Israeli strike in Beirut's Dahiyeh district, according to Channel 12. The nature of the possible concession remains unclear while back-channel efforts involving multiple intermediaries are reportedly underway.

Iran's security leadership responded with bellicose statements. Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, Chairman of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, declared: "The response of the soldiers of Islam is coming. Lebanon is our life, and violating the Islamic Republic's red lines will not be tolerated." Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Central Headquarters of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya, stated in a national address that Iran's combat capabilities are stronger than ever and that forces are "finger on the trigger, ready to shoot at the enemy's heart."

As The Zioneer reported in a SAME-THREAD article on June 8, Trump had previously denounced the Beirut strikes and demanded a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, warning that military escalation risked destroying a nearly finalized peace deal with Tehran. The current diplomatic push appears to represent the next phase of that effort.

In a separate development, Trump held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, his 13th call in 18 months according to the Kremlin. Trump informed Putin that a landmark US-Iran agreement has been finalized and that details could be publicly announced later today. Putin reportedly expressed satisfaction with the diplomatic breakthrough.
