A worker in his 30s was critically injured Friday after falling into a sewage pit approximately 5 meters deep on Ha'Eshkolot Street in Kiryat Bialik. Firefighters extricated him with specialized equipment and evacuated him for medical care; MDA reported his condition as serious but stable. A separate earlier report about a factory pit incident involved a different location and a worker in his 30s evacuated in serious condition, not the sewage pit rescue.
Around 11:55 Friday morning, emergency services received a report of a worker who fell into a sewage pit on Ha'Eshkolot (Eshkolot) Street in Kiryat Bialik. Fire rescue crews from the Krayot station, reinforced by the Special Rescue Unit (YALAM) and a hazardous materials monitoring team, arrived to find the man unconscious inside a pit approximately 5 meters deep. Crews monitored for toxic gases before a firefighter descended, attached an oxygen mask, and prepared the victim for extraction.
The Fire and Rescue Services described the operation as complex, noting that he was extricated unconscious and in serious condition. MDA paramedics treated him at the scene and evacuated him by mobile intensive care unit to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, where his condition was reported as stable but serious.
A separate incident earlier Friday involved a worker in his 30s who fell into a factory pit in Kiryat Bialik and was evacuated in serious condition. Emergency services treated both events as distinct occurrences in the same city, each with a different location and circumstance.
As The Zioneer reported, similar industrial-accident rescues have occurred in the area in recent weeks, including a woman rescued from a drainage pit in Binyamina and a scaffolding fall in Kiryat Motzkin. All such events remain under investigation by relevant authorities.
