Security analyst Yair Goldblatt posted footage on X on Tuesday showing the condition of Bushehr International Airport in southern Iran after the US strikes. The visual record comes hours after a series of reports Tuesday morning indicated the airport had been shut down and rendered inoperable. Goldblatt's footage provides the first visual documentation of the facility's state since the attacks.
Earlier Tuesday at 10:25 Jerusalem, the story developed rapidly. Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani first claimed the airport was completely shut down after a newly purchased aircraft was struck by an enemy missile, leaving only the tail. The Iranian government then officially attributed the shutdown to American attacks. The IRGC subsequently stated the airport was non-operational and that the aircraft was destroyed. Goldblatt himself had earlier cited Iranian sources reporting the airport remained shut, and i24NEWS journalist Amichai Stein reported it was rendered inoperable. The thread moved from official Iranian claims to journalist reporting, and now to visual footage shared by a security analyst.
As The Zioneer reported on July 9, US strikes hit approximately 150 targets in southern Iran, including in the Bushehr area. On July 12, The Zioneer reported unverified visual data suggesting damage to a structure near the Bushehr nuclear reactor. The current footage adds a visual layer to the reporting on the airport's condition.
The footage has not been independently verified by third-party sources. The operational status of Bushehr International Airport remains unclear, and the extent of damage to the aircraft and infrastructure has not been independently confirmed. The airport's ability to resume operations is unknown.
