Ramaan
Ramaan is a Lebanese village in the Nabatieh District of southern Lebanon, situated near the strategic Ali al-Taher ridge. During the 2026 conflict, it has emerged as a focal point for Israeli precision strikes targeting Hezbollah logistics and terror infrastructure in the Nabatieh sector.
Ramaan (often referred to as Kafr Rumman) is a strategically positioned village in the Nabatieh Governorate of southern Lebanon. Located on the outskirts of Nabatieh, the regional administrative capital and a major Hezbollah urban stronghold, Ramaan serves as a critical junction for movement between the city and the surrounding high ground, including the Ali al-Taher ridge (Ma'ale Tahara). Due to its proximity to these strategic heights and its role in Hezbollah's defensive and logistical layout, the village has seen significant military activity during the IDF's 2026 operations in southern Lebanon.
In mid-2026, Ramaan became a frequent target of Israeli aerial and drone operations. These strikes have focused on neutralizing terror operatives and disrupting the transport of weapons. In June 2026, the village was the site of a UAV strike on a motorcycle that resulted in the death of a Lebanese Army soldier, Jamil Nahhal, highlighting the complexities of operating in areas where Lebanese military positions are interspersed with Hezbollah infrastructure.
