IDF eliminates Hamas Nukhba commander who infiltrated Israel on Oct. 7 in Jabaliya strike

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the elimination of two Hamas operatives in a strike carried out Saturday in the Jabaliya region. The primary target was identified as Abd al-Fattah Abu al-Aish, a commander in Hamas's elite Nukhba Force. According to military records, Abu al-Aish was among the terrorists who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7, 2023, massacre.

A second operative, Raid Adel Muhammad Alyan, was also killed in the same strike. The IDF stated that both men were actively involved in advancing terror plots against Israeli civilians and security forces in the immediate timeline. Furthermore, the military reported that the operatives were working to reconstitute Hamas's military capabilities, a move characterized as a systematic violation of the current ceasefire agreement.

Context of Counter-Terror Operations

This strike follows a pattern of targeted operations against the remaining leadership of the Nukhba Force, the unit responsible for leading the initial wave of the October 7 attacks. The military emphasized that these strikes are necessary to prevent Hamas from utilizing the operational lull to restore its command-and-control structures.
