Official Khamenei Farewell Ceremonies Begin in Tehran, Four Months After Elimination

Early reports from the Mosalla complex confirmed the presence of representatives from Russia, China, Iraq, and Turkmenistan, as well as delegations from Malaysia, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Norway. Notably, the Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that European nations which supported Israeli and American actions against Iran were pointedly excluded from the invitation list. Domestically, the event was attended by IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi and other senior military figures, alongside families of those killed in the ongoing regional conflict.

The Funeral Itinerary

The current ceremonies in Tehran are the first stage of a multi-city procession designed to facilitate mass public mourning. Following the events in the capital on July 4-5, the body is scheduled to be transported to the religious center of Qom on July 7. The process will conclude on July 9 with a final burial in Khamenei's hometown of Mashhad, where he will be interred at the Imam Reza shrine.
